🗓️ Week 1
This week, I poured 43 hours into researching, coding, and documenting 1 project, fueled by 9 cups of coffee. I participated in 2 calls to discuss goals, progress, and challenges.
I kicked of the program by developing this website to keep track of my progress and share updates publicly.
Participation in the EPF Study Group has termendously helped me navigate the protocol landscape. I'm interested in the execution layer, especially the EVM.
Together with Ethereum Foundation, the Ipsilon team works extensively on EVM and its tooling. I reviewed some articles and EIPs by Ipsilon. Alex has an interesting talk on the EVM Roadmap.
After reviewing their EPF project ideas, I believe analyzing EVM's memory pricing would be a good first project.
Finally, I reviewed appendix G through H of the yellow paper for the formal specifications of gas payment. However, it doesn't document how the gas cost of an instruction is measured. I'll research this further. Once I have enough information, I plan to reach out to Ipsilon to understand the project requirements and share my findings.
EVM Memory Repricing documents my research.
